My thanks go out to the guy who was able to translate most of the first picture I posted.
Now if only there was a place for political fanfiction/fanart

What does /ssh/ think of the Bicameral Mind?

Basically it's the idea that around the dawn of civilization, around the theorized emergence of language, humans were driven by voices in their heads, auditory hallucinations, which compelled them to do everything. The Wiki link is in the email field. It sounds crazy, but really, give it a read. It makes a lot more sense to me now than it did when I first heard of it.

So, Iran looks like it may be going into revolution.
Is it possible, as an American, to support the protesters without making the US a target for more criticism?

Pay your taxes. The CIA is, I can assure you, supporting the revolution. You can also buy lottery tickets, US savings bonds, and vote for major-party candidates.

the dymaxion houses and other such future housing overlord overman 01/4/2010(Thu)07:19:43 No.569235    [Reply]
the fuller house and dymaxion houses to name a few are all "futuristic" housing made to be mass manufacturable and highly portable as well as durable and mostly energy efficient. Besides the slight problem of aesthetics what could they have done differently to make these things work. It is a fantastic and necessary idea if someone could do it right.

File: igloo_2_ib4f.jpg - (930.96kb, 1815x1762)
this one seems to me to be the most successful of the designs. departing from the by then traditional model of the future one-room massproduction-able home. "One of the more visionary ideas was Harvard professor Mark Wagner's 1944 proposal for constructing igloos out of plywood sheets clad in stainless steel and insulated with glass fibre with a heating/cooling unit stuck on the button. Prof Wagner's rationale was that the igloos would be cheap to build and that young couples could start off living simply in a single igloo and then adding on more as they became more prosperous and their family grew."
